Description
This wine is dedicated to Florence’s grandfather, or in french, “Grand Pere”, who was a small vigneron in France many years ago. It is made using a high percentage of shiraz, mourvedre and grenache pressings. Pressings, where the press is cut off before any coarse flavours are extracted from the seeds, often have the most flavour and robust tannin of the wine. Pressings can be astringent when young, but when matured in new french oak and old french oak barrels the wine gains softness and complexity and is well suited to bottle ageing.
This limited production wine was mainly produced for restaurants and cellar door.
