Fairfax Youth Initiative - Swan Hill

21 Sep 2017 TO 21 Sep 2017

Beginning in Swan Hill, Victoria in 1997, the Fairfax Youth Initiative is held annually in memory of George Fairfax, who grew up in Nangiloc, in the Mallee region.

The Fairfax Youth Initiative connects professional arts practitioners with youth from local regional areas to develop practical performance skills and to create diverse and professional quality theatre work.

This year the Fairfax Youth Initiative will explore the concept of art and social change, looking at how artists can communicate through their work to bring awareness and support to a particular cause or message.

This event is the final performance at the Swan Hill Town Hall showcasing the new works created by our local young people.

Participating schools and their visiting Artists include:

Kalianna School Bendigo - Rachel Leary
Tooleybuc Central School - Fablice and Zidee Jay
Red Cliffs Secondary School - Rosa Campagnaro - Make a scene
St Mary Mackillop College - Lauren Cruickshank
Manangatang P-12 - Asking for Trouble ( Luke and Christy)
Tyrrell College - Claire Pearson

Come along and be amazed.
